The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC)

IICRC-approved certified firm, like Bay Restoration and Air Duct Services, must have at least 5 years actual experience in the applied-for subject field. They must be affiliated with an IICRC-approved school, or they must have their first two courses monitored by an IICRC representative. Every two years certified firm attend the IICRC sponsored "Train the Trainer Course." Initially, all certified firm are presented for approval to the Certification Council (a group of some 100-industry representatives) and to the IICRC Board of Directors for final approval.
